Hello guys...I stumble upon this forum looking for tips on taking decals off a Action CART diecast. Man oh man is there alot of good stuff on here. I've built 1/25 scale IndyCars before but wanted to go to the next level and do a conversion on some dismantled diecasts I found at a garage sale. 1 1999 Patrick Carpentier car and 2 2003 Lolas for 20 bucks! So I'm jumping into the deep end here and hopefully they come out as good as I envision them...with your help of course!

Great to have you here! Sounds like you did good - I have been looking for some of those last Lola diecasts but never have seen a deal that good!
Were the 2003 cars using the real Lola mold? For some reason later "official" ChampCar diecasts of cars running Lolas were printed on Reynard bodies. Never heard a good reason why though. To me, Action's 2000 Lola body wouldn't have been 100% correct but at least it would have gotten ppl closer than a Reynard!?!?

They're the Paul Tracy and Adrian Fernandez Lolas. Smokin deal for sure! I've seen those go for a lot on ebay. I actually lucked out a month ago and got a Kenny Brack Lola for $50 and I already had a PT car so my plan is to try and make these look like the real Lolas. Going to keep my first PT Lola intact incase i screw up the other one. Luckily all the others have damage or are already taken apart for me! Trick now is to find someone that has the road course front and rear wings for the Lolas for sale. Any suggestions? And how is the best way to strip the paint of these bad boys?
