The following links are of the Comptech Acura Lola T93 Honda that Parker Johnstone drove at Mid Ohio in 1994. This was his first drive in an Indy Car. ***just added img tags -Jordan***

We had at least one Acura Integra in our driveway for about 15 years starting in '93 so I always liked Comtech! They were cool to watch them racing Integras in SCCA (right?) where they'd be pulling the handbrake and some such to get those front wheel drive cars to keep up with the big HP competitors. Parker was never going to set the world on fire but it was always nice to see him do good. I think it was Long Beach where he made the podium and broke down because he was so happy.
Love the model - is this the 1/25 diecast? Never seen these decals before but would love to stumble upon a set for me :-D

thanks for all the compliments. The car is 1/18 scale and I did use Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange. I have always admired Parker Johnstone and this project has been sitting on my work bench for the last 15 years.

The story behind that car is pretty interesting. Comtech bought two 1993 Lolas from Bobby Rahal in April of 1994. Not sure which one was the race used tub but they started out Life as one of Kenny's Bud Lolas - Bobby bought them in May of 1993 and raced them - Mike Groff used one as a test mule in the winter of 1993 for honda and drove it at Surfers in early 1994 - enter comtech

What ever happened to Parker? He did ESPN drag racing commentary for a while and disappeared.

He lives in Oregon, and has a Honda dealership there. I saw him at the Portland historic last month. He wasn't driving the car in this picture. He told a story about how Honda gave him this car out of the blue, and it meant allot to him. There was a PC23 sitting to the left.

Was watching a race on YouTube the other day with Parker & gang. Made me miss open wheel on ESPN.
Cool car - Nice to see it built!

Parker didn't exactly have the best luck in this car but he is a Hell of a guy. I enjoyed watching him race the Acura Spice in IMSA Camel Lights and progress with Comptech to IndyCars, Brix, and then to end his career with Team Kool Green. I am currently trying to make contact with Parker to get him to autograph the diecast. I sent an email through his dealership website the other day but haven't heard anything yet. If anyone has access to him I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Thanks, Bryan

Hey All, Just tooting my own horn, here. I did the decals for this car. I do custom decals for sprints, midgets, Indy cars and just about anything else. You can contact me at gws.decals@verizon.net. Great work on the car, Bryan!

Good news to share!!! Parker Johnstone sent me an email the other day in regards to my work on the car. The car is currently on it's way to Oregon to be signed and then returned. I'm now looking into my next project. Any suggestions???

Two '93 Lolas (one speedway and one road course), '98 Reynard, two Action Dallaras, four Greenlight Dallaras, and a Ferrari 333SP. I am looking for the rare that I haven't seen made before.

I was gonna suggest Mark Smiths craftsman ride from the 1993 season, but like the AMAX Bettenhausen team he used a '92 Penske chassis in 1993. A road course 1993 Scott Brayton ride would be pretty cool.

Check your 1993 references, I am pretty sure Bettenhausen moved up to the current PC22 for '93 so they could run the newest spec Chevy-C. I believe Mark Smith and Eddie Cheever were the only two running PC21's in 1993.

Always glad to help - this is right in my wheelhouse as I read, breathed, and slept this stuff 24/7 back then - especially things to do with Team Penske, Penske chassis, etc ;D
Let's get back to picking a project!

Always wanted to that one in 1/25 but no one has made them (that I know of). I might do them myself someday but I don't need another project right now LOL

I just received my car back today from Parker Johnstone's Wilsonville Honda. He autographed the sidepod and sent a nice little of gratitude. He is still a class act... ***fixed image link -Jordan***
