great build! my favorite Al Sr car was his #27 Menard-Buick of the year before. I think he would have won that year if it hadn't been for a broken header.

The stands nearly came down when he took the lead. He was running 214's as I recall and was bad fast - in fact out-pacing similar Lola Chevy's by 2 mph including Al Jr.
I don't think Al would have finished ahead of Emmo and Arie... but it would have been interesting if the clutch had not been slipping (it stalled on the final pit stop). Al Sr. was a beast... even at age 54. This all a year after finishing 3rd in a Menard Buick.
PERFECT build!!! Amazing work and kudos to IndyCals as well!

Love the build - Tamiya puts together some highly engineered kits out and it allows for nice builds with less headaches!! The build looks great!
Al Sr. was great in '92. It was my first race but I vividly remember my Dad timing the difference between Jr and Sr mid-race. We, of course, rooted for the one closest to our ages - was a fun memory and didn't Al give the Buick V6 their best finish ever? That is saying something considering how long that engine stuck around at the Brickyard!

Jordan exactly....we were doing the same thing. lap after lap we watched from the Southeast Vista as 'Big Al' was catching the leaders. I was really pulling for him and then near the end, he slowed and took 3rd place. the two things I remember most from that year? the Menards Buick almost winning the race and FREEZING MY 'you know what' OFF!
