Sounds like Indycar is consulting with Bruton Smith! IMO, gimmicks don't make the racing better, but we'll see.

I'm with Brian on this one- just not a fan of contrived racing. I'd much rather see a driver work his tail off and not be able to make a pass, than push a button and pull it off easily.

Hmm. I'm clearly in the minority here. I liked push to pass in Champcar and am happy to see it return. Their solution to prevent "push to block" is elegantly simple, and should work.
Personally, I don't see much difference between this and the DRS in F1. People want to watch racing, not driving around, and this helps make things racier. Let's see how it pans out.
Not quite as gimmicky as Nascar with G-W-C, Lucky Dawg, "competition yellows", etc.
