Disappointing but not entirely shocking. Interesting to see that they'd have to pay to leave before the 5-years is up.

There are a lot of people to feel bad for in this deal. John Judd has worked his tail off only to be left with an unusable inventory. Once again, money talks, b******t walks.

I can't imagine what they believed the results would be, considering they were so far behind the competition. Some of the things about the package, having worked with it in person, are laughable and genuinely absurd. I would have expected much more from Mr. Judd and staff.

This needed more time to come good, funnily enough, I have never seen a competitive Judd engine win anything except in junior formula. Some podiums in F1 in late 80s, this program needed atleast another year or 2 to come good. Maybe they are cutting their losses early.

I'd have to agree that Judd has never had much success. I was somewhat surprised when he was named as the engine builder for Lotus. Although with proper funding and more time maybe he could have gotten there. As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Judd did win one race in 1988 at Pocono with Bobby Rahal. As I recall, there was a fair bit of attrition that day. But that race aside, it was not a good season for Rahal and he left to drive for the Kraco team the next year. I have always been a bit baffled by the lack of success Judd has at the top rungs considering their performance in lower classes.
