WHOA!!!! I remember talking to you about this a few months back, it looks fantastic. I almost bought one off of amazon for $8.95 w/free shipping, and I hesitated, when I got around to buy it, it was gone . Yours has turned out really well, decals turned out great! oh, and the helmet is a 1/12th scale minichamps helmet, where did you source the helmet from ? a 1/12 scale f1 car ? I know of the minichamps 1/8 scale helmets and minichamps keyring helmets which are a tad smaller than 1/12 scale.

PS, coincidentally there is a great little discussion on Buddy over on TrackForum today. 2005 could have been win #2 at Indy... but Danica crashed into him and then Scott Sharp chop blocked him into the grass... twice! www.trackforum.com/forums/showthread.php?165577-Lazier

I used to post on track forum but I stayed out of the Lazier debates due to bias reasons. Over the years have gotten to be friends with Buddy and had some real good conversations with him about racing and his future. All I can say is he still has the fire burning to get in a car. Race morning during an interview broadcasted over the track network he commented on working with the Lotus team this year and how hard it was as he is not ready to retire... when they asked him about a come back I couldn't hear the response given but I know what it is...
As to the helmet the scale could be off a bit but it looked pretty close...they are the minichamp helmets that were mounted on the little plastic bases.

That's awesome Eric, as far as I know minichamps makes 1/8 scale helmet, did u use the fittipaldi helmet as a donor ? If you have used a 1/8 scale helmet with a 1/12 scale car. They look pretty good! I'm also aware of onyx making mini helmets but they are 1/12 scale I believe. I've yet to buy an onyx helmet though. Onyx made some nice helmets of Indy drivers in the mid 90s.

Calvin,
It is great to see you posting again!!! Hope you are doing better. I love big models too. That is what made me do this as I always wanted a large scale Indy model but there was never really anything to use as a good starting point until this....so I figured why not give it a try...and I was very happy with the results...
