Hey guys, your input will help here. As most of you know I moved two years ago and haven't built a thing since. Now I pulled out my cars from storage and got the itch real bad. I want to make it relatively easy, meaning a single color car. Here are my choices:
1) 1986 Skoal Bandit March 2) 1989 Copenhagen Foyt Lola 3) 1988 Budweiser Truesports Lola
I'm leaning toward #1 or #2 but will take your suggestions.

I agree, the Skoal Bandit is a great looking car and a fun kit to build.

The Bandit has always been fairly high on my todo list. You do yours first, and I'll just copy what you do.

I like the Skoal cars!!! Harry Gant and Tom Sneva were childhood heroes so much I replicated their horrible racing luck with my online sim racing. I've updated the schemes a little, but here are my retro schemes I still race today! I'm a Ford guy these days, but can't bring myself to put a Ford logo on Harry's Chevy.

How could anyone not choose a Foyt car?!?!? Because Black paint is so hard to do - we're easing him back into painting with Skoal green instead?

Build the Bandit. Can you imagine Harry Gant at Indy? He would have been a fine teammate to Foyt along with Snider. We can only dream. Jim

Since it looks like Skoal will win out over Copenhagen, I'll prep for that car. A couple questions:
A) What do I do for that football shaped thing on the end of the engine cover
B) How dark of a green do I go with? I can alter the shade by using a gray primer if I want to go dark. I will be using Tamiya Racing Green.
And not to fret about the Foyt car, I have an old Provimi car that I can re-do rather quickly into the Foyt ride.

I PROMISE!! Pictures coming soon. I'll open another thread about the 1986 Skoal Bandit as soon as I get my Photobucket account figured out.
I can tell you that my next build will be the 1989 AJ Foyt Copenhagen Lola. After seeing Michael's decals I'm really itchy to do that car. If anyone can post multiple pics of that car it would be a great help. Thanks guys!

I'm almost done. Tires, engine detail (which will NOT be shown, ;D) mirrors and fuel filler are all that's left. It went together pretty well, tho I have to say the #33 decals on the lower part of the chassis was a pain to fit. It's as if they are a hair too big but I trust that Michael knows more about how they should fit than I do.
Bottom line, look for this sometime Friday. Maybe sooner. It's real hot here in Illinois so maybe I'll pass on the golf in favor of the model building.
STILL looking for pics of the 1989 Copenhagen Lola.
