Hi, Here's my Lance Seller's Turbine conversion. I just painted it today using Tamiya's Flo Red spray. I'll give it at least a couple of days to dry throughly before doing anything to it. The turbine engine is done, but I'll still need to add some wiring to it. Sandy

Hi, Finally getting close to finishing this one after the Tamiya paint and decal weirdness. It will get some more wires, seat and belts, and other bits and pieces hopefully this weekend. Sandy

I've got one of the MPC kits. I've read a couple of reviews that say that getting the body halves to merge is a real pain. Anybody care to take the time to tell me what the differences are between the MPC kit and this conversion?
That's really sharp paint and decal work. I like that a lot. Makes me want to get mine on the bench.

The upper body and nose are one piece , cockpit has been made a little wider, the upper body has been narrowed to match the lower tub better and the windscreen is vac. formed . New suspension parts lower the ride hight of the model, there are new tires , exhaust outlet, knock off's and new decals. This update kit is currently out of production. Lance

Thanks guys. I agree with Russ 100%. This is basically a good kit especially for it's age. Lance's resin kit just makes it a whole lot better. Sandy

Beautiful. I think it's also cool that you used the Art Pollard numbers for your build. He was a big fan favorite at Indy. Tom T.

Sandy,
IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice work.....I like that old kit and with a little effort, like you have just shown, you get a really neat and weird looking Indy Car. I have one I built a long time ago...I may have get one out and build Pelican Joe Leonard's number 60.
GOOD JOB!

Hi Dave, Going from memory (one of my least reliable abilities) it was a one piece resin upper body (including the nose), vac windscreen, a much improved exhaust stack, tires, decals, white metal suspension parts, a real helpful instruction sheet and a full color painting & decal guide for all three cars. Sandy

Hi Ziggy, Having just 'been there, done that' I can say you're doing a Great Job on it. Very nice work on the suspension, it gave me a few stressful moments. Real nice paint work. What did you use? Sandy

Hi Bill, Great photos. I see some things I missed and darn, I want to build another one now! Sandy That happened to me too! Here are a couple more...I have dozens of reference pics saved and in books/magazines for these cars. I welcome requests from anyone for particular areas they would like to see posted. One of the things I missed (in part because the kit instructions give NO indication as to the correct position) is the placement of the brake calipers on the rotor. They actually hung at the bottom in the 6:00 position. Very odd.

Here is another I find quite interesting...Note on this race day photo that the Hill turbine (and the Pollard) has no fuel filler visible on the right, but other pics show two on the left. Leonard, however, has one on each side. Also Hill & Pollard both have some sort of whiteish looking headrest padding whereas Leonard has none. I see no Firestone decal on the right side of the body just below the cockpit windscreen on the #60 either...The mirrors were different on all 3 cars as well.

Hi, This shot is great showing the right side change. These cars seem to have changed almost on a daily basis. Sandy
