Hello all.
I live in England and have been modelling various plastic kits on and off since i was a kid. This has been mostly aeroplanes , but i've always loved racing cars of various types - my father used to build engines for various people who owned and raced historic cars.
So being around some of these cars in real life was a thrill . Perhaps some of you will agree , that you don't have to see these cars flying past you on the circuit to appreciate them. I think that seeing a racing car up close , stationary in the pits or paddock can be a more interesting experience - the beautiful designs, well crafted parts, the engineering on display.
Maybe a good model is like a fine 3D photograph , showing us things we love to look at and appreciate?
Anyway , i found this site when i was searching for any information on a Classic Carlectables lola t332 formula 5000 that i had recently bought with a veiw to changing it into the livery and spec of one that my father raced in the early 80's.
Looking at a lot of the pictures on show and reading about the builds is so interesting. It really makes me want to do this.
