Nice pics!
What is the small pod that is on the right side of the rear wing? All the cars have it. Timing and scoring transducer maybe?....TV camera mount???

Treaded tires with oval set up? ?? Looks like they're using road course rains to roll around the garage area. Gotta protect that expensive racing rubber

Those are tow tires. And the thing on the rear wing is a camera pod. All cars will run one but not all will have a camera in them.

So ... do those rear wings actually do anything besides hold the camera and serve as an advertising surface? They are nearly flat, the camera screws with the aerodynamics on the right hand side and there are no end plates. Does the undertray on the DW12 generate all the downforce they need, or are we going to see a bit more angle on these wings come race day?

The wings are not flat they are actually opposite of an airplane wing. I did notice for qualifying the angle of it was down in the back quite a bit. A lot more than I have ever seen. I also noticed on tv on Sunday they changed the angle for race trim. The endplates are gone but the back of the car has the extension plates. These take place of the end plates. This is all one piece and very easy to change out. I will say this at first glance of these cars they are a little ugly but they start to grow on you. Than seeing them do 230+ down the straight away and up close they are very cool looking. I am looking forward to the race it should be a great one.

Does the negative wing angle create drag? I would seem that it would.

I have quite a few other detail shots but if there's anything specific anyone wants to see lemme know and I'll see if I have it. Meanwhile here's a few cockpit shots. I first noticed Kanaan with green belts then them on Rubens and Marco's cars. Takata brand but I'd not heard of them before.

The timing and scoring transponder placement changed on the DW12 and is now located in a slot on the underneath side of the nose about 40" from the front so it is no longer visible. It is connected to a cam on the engine as a power supply to eliminate keeping a battery charged. One other interesting note, telemetry is not only downloaded but can be uploaded as well. I am glad that in at least three instances we had spins with no contact. It has been a while since we had that. I don't know if you can attribute that to the new car but that sure saved some money and let drivers continue in the race. I found it really hard to identify the cars. The numbers were really hard to read. What was your reaction? Thanks, Jim
