Tamiya Paint Question

I have a question about the shade of a Tamiya paint, Mica Red. Exactly what does the "Mica" do to the paint? They also have a Mica Blue and it seems to be the same shade as the regular Blue, TS-15.

They are lightly metallic, both are very pretty colors.

Thanks. I kind of thought that's what it was but Tamiya also has has "Metallic" colors marked as such.
