Let me finally say hello! I'm Alter Renner. A second-grade teacher introduced me to PLASTIC models in 1956, and I've had glue in my veins ever since. I've never really stopped building all these years, just took pauses. I build primarily automobiles, changing subjects as my mood shifts, or I stumble across a really neat kit that I've forgotten I have, but I seem to always return to open wheels. I've always been a racer, both at heart and in practice, hence the name Alter Renner (Old Racer in Deutsche-adds a bit of flare, don't you think?). The Indy 500 was the only non-road race that interested me as a child, mostly because my heros began showing up, an Indycar had just won the Race of Two Worlds, and one ran at the US Grand Prix at Sebring. Don't forget those great Firestone ads in the magazine, too! I'm not new to the forum. I've been reading the posts for quite a while, and finally joined last month. The quality of the work in this forum is both humbling and inspiring. I am honored to be here.

Well, mentioning the Race of Two Worlds dates you my friend, so "Alter" fits you well. I, too, love open wheeled car and love building the off-beat and different. Wilkomen.
