On this car note how the sidepods have a slope from the middle forward, so I cut a notch in the side & cut the top loose from the cockpit to bend the sidepods down. On the bottom half I matched this angle. I didn't take a profile pic of the completed modification, sorry, but I think you get the gist. Now I close off the original radiator exhaust outlets. Cut new radiator exhaust outlets & boxed in with styrene. I've been using Green Putty for years but have switched to stuff my buddy Stu uses. Green Putty keeps shrinking so re coating several times to fill cracks. I wish I would have had the glazing putty when I started this car. The cockpit on the 85 has no "notch" at the windshield so I had to close off with putty. Now I'll cut off the bottom part of the windshield to match this angle, you only get one chance with this, screw this up & you trash an irreplaceable windshield. Also this chassis does not have the nose flares so they had to be removed & you guessed it, filled in with styrene & putty. I built the rear wing support which you will see in the finished car.
