The Entex BRM-M@r1b0r0 kit is a basic one, but can be built up into a nice model with some extra work. There is even a Hong Kong toy of the car that I made into the McRae GM-1 F5000 as an example. It seems to have its origin in the 1/25 Polistil diecast as they are VERY similar. I've built over 3 cars in the past... only the green P153 still exists unfortunately. I love glue bombs and this is another one... I improved the front suspension and bodywork... the nose is modified to look like the shovel nose design and the engine heads (which is pretty good) needs to be made like a banked head. here's the reworked nose... wiring on the engine is started... oil blow-by lines go to the oil tank... and a test fitting... now I need some decals. Cockpit is installed, but that brings some fiddly bit time...all fit fine as separate pieces, but when glued together it couldn't slide into place; so i had to think of a new assembly scenario... with that done, then the engine, bulkhead/rollbar unit couldn't fit in without slicing off the rollbar...sliced and glued... then one trailing link wouldn't quite fit without bending... it's getting there... damn, I hate the fiddly stuff. Why can't it fit like I visualize? Possibly because one eye is slightly askew? Patrick

Patrick,
Best looking build of this kit I can remember. I have a couple of these (glue bombs) and I am following your build closely. Do you have decals for this? (I assume it will be the M@r1b0r0 BRM).

Rusty,
I do like this kit/car. I did the M@r1b0r0 car once (Beltoise's), but the Yardley car will lead me to another "lost" project a McLaren M23 and then I can use Michael's decals for it. The BRM will use Patto's decals for the P160. I still have my original front suspension from my first Mauri McLaren kit. I'll be using a Hong Kong toy to make it. Cheaper that way!!

I hate the fiddly stuff. Why can't it fit like I visualize? Possibly because one eye is slightly askew? Patrick It's funny you should mention this Patrick. I was in the doctor's office the other day. As I waited, I was building a number of cars in my head. It's amazing how many kits I get built that way. It's good way to pass time these days with the many appointments that I have. I guess it's just a sign of getting old. However, you are totally right. When I finally get home and actually start doing them. They never turn out the way I planned it! I guess that's why we build them! Great stuff Patrick! Glad to see your back up and running at full tilt! I love your WIPs! Jim

building kits in my head is my favourite relaxation technique, sod whale song or sniffing candles, fantasy building and dreaming up possible solutions to those annoying fiddly bits always helps get me to sleep..... funny thing is if I start talking it through out loud it sends my wife to sleep?!?!
Build is looking good Patrick, don't know how you can do so much so quickly.

That is such a cool photo! Now that is motor sport at its best! No one can do that now a days, eh? As for which car? Well, Paloma has influenced me and it will be another Pedro car... I don't know what race it is, but I LOVE "T" cars! Patrtick PS I want to do Phil Hill's early "low line" ATS next (along with a P139 BRM, Ferguson-Climax 4WD, 312/66 F1) and I MUST find a Merit Cooper 500! Oh, lord who says so many cars, so little time?

Patrick, like always, a very good work ! I'm curious about the level of cockpit detail in this kit. In a trip to Italy in 1976, my mother bought one Polystil BRM P160 and March 711, and i tryied so many times scratchbuild one(the P160), but without result. Good work. Cheers. Alex

This one moves on down the assembly line, too... ;D I have to order the decals from Patto's as they seen to be the only ones for the Yardley team. Patrick
