Just wondering if any one knows if this car ever raced in Road Course configuration in the wet? If so a pic would be greatly appreciated thank you. Any idea on what would be a good colour match?

I can't say for sure, but I seem to remember seeing this paint scheme on a road course setup. Jordan (aka the Reynard Meister) will know for sure. As for the paint job, I think it was a dark blue (possible metal flake). I will differ to anyone who has actually built this car. But in the mean time, I was doing a quick Google of "Miller Reynard Build" and I got this link. It has a few different Miller Reynards. The 1996 scheme is similar but has a silver nose with some very cool looking graphics on the top of the side pods. I had never seen this particular paint scheme. www.brinkworthmodels.com/models/rahal.htmlRusty

Yepper, it raced in several configs including roadie and I have a pic (somewhere) of this car in the rain. Could have been a practice session - I cannot say for sure this scheme raced in the rain. I'd say dark metallic, too. Shoot me an email if you need some reference pics. My old PC is dead (using a laptop from work or wife for now) but I have *some* pics online that might help.

Cleveland 1999 was a dry/wet/dry race. A pretty darn good race, too, with the changing conditions so I *think* this scheme raced in the wet. Couldn't find a pic of Max at Cleveland to verify the Harley scheme ran there but I know the race is on YouTube if you want to check.

More proof that I have way too many photos.... So, after uploading 721 photos of ChampCars off of some random site I found tonight, I decided to organize a little. Funny thing is, I ran across this photo: Turns out it was just hiding way down out of sight already uploaded on my Photobucket account. If the link is broken let me know, I might have to move this one some day when I get down to organizing more LOL Looks like Portland to me but there isn't a lot of context to go off of here. Jordan

Looks like Portland to me but there isn't a lot of context to go off of here. It is Portland, I'm 99.9875% sure it is because of the GI Joes banners on the wall and Max is driving in a clockwise direction.

That's what I was thinking but I couldn't say for sure those black banners were GI Joe since I could *not* definitively make out the writing and I haven't seen one of their stores around these parts in almost 3 decades! I know this is an old post but I thought because of the reference worthiness of the thread that it could use some clarification. I believe the above picture in the quote is from practice because Portland 1999 was a "dry" race. There was intermittent drizzle but the cars all wore slicks the whole race. Certainly the track never got as wet in the race as the picture shows with the spray of water and rooster tails being kicked up. There was no talk of a wet qualifying session either on the TV broadcast so I don't think the pic is from Q and the track was dry at the start of the race so I think it is not likely from any Sunday morning warm-up either. Even though Shayne's building an oval car, hopefully this info is relevant to someone else here in the future. Thanks to the wonder that is YouTube, I decided last year to watch the entire 1999 season. Stopped mid-Milwaukee early this year and picked back up my watching this week with the Portland race. Portland is an interesting race to watch as Derrick Walker, Gil de Ferran, and crew really put one on the field that day. It also was the last win for Goodyear in Champcar and first win for Gil since '96. Hard to believe that after his long winless streak that Gil would be series champion in just over a year's time....
