Having seen Wisdonm's 1938 Indy W154 I though the GP version deserved an airing. Built around 12 years ago I got a little carried away with the Revival kit and ended up with this. .

It's in 1/20th scale and provided a lot of inspiration for detailing all round. . . . . . Shame these kits are so hard to come by at anything like affordable prices. The range included some more unusual subjects too.

Any words I could come up with to express my reaction would be insufficient. I'll leave it at simply amazing.

Great reference pics. Now, where are the pics of the completed model? ;D
Beautiful work. Man, those drivers really had to have a pair to drive these skinny tyred beasts.

To true MJ, can't imagine sitting in the AutoUnion D type... hell of a power to weight ratio! Stirling Moss always maintains a race car should have more power than the tyres can cope with, think he would have been in his element in these cars. Thanks for the kind words guys, Ian

What a fantastic build. These were amazing cars. I think Don Lee acquired one of these and ran it at Indy in 1947 with Duke Nalon driving and again in 1948 with Chet Miller. Must have been good training before driving the Novi. Thanks for sharing. Jim

Seeing your W154 in 1/20 will help me do the Hawk Indy Mercedes Into a 154. I'm so glad you took great photos of your great build.
