Here is my rendition of the 1988 Indy winner! Since there are a ton of these cars out there, I skipped out on the WIP. This is about the fourth one of this car I've built over the years. The others going to customers. After some of the cars just posted lately by Lance, Michael and Patrick, I feel like I was left in the dust! Some really great modelers here! I used Tamiya spray paints and Michael's Indycals decals. modeled the car with the wheels Rick used at the end of the race. I didn't want to use the only set of wheel covers I have. I want to use those on the Unser Sr. car when I get to it. It would be great if I could get a couple of more sets of these babies! They are from Front-Motor. Since Gary's back in business, maybe we'll see them again? Jim

Beautiful! This is the first build of any car that I remember seeing a radio antenna on. Which brings up the question of when radio antennas first appeared on cars at the Speedway. As for the wheel covers, I'd love to have a set for the upcoming 91 Penske. Nice job Jim.

I think two-way radios in the cars were started in the late sixties early seventies. On the 71 Broadcast of the Indy 500 Jim McKay alluded to the fact Al Unser had radio contact with his pit crew. But I am unable to find an antenna on the 71 Colt! As far a seeing antennas on the cars the earliest I've seen that I can recollect is the 72 McLaren at the left front near the cockpit shroud. I'm sure we may get some better answers than I can give! Jim
