Since I have nothing else exciting going on lately trying to recover from my bad heath. I'm going to start one of my famous "future WIP's." (no plains to start anytime soon)
This is going to start out mainly as a review of the new Studio 27 Multimedia kit I got today! In the last week I've gained the strength to get on the computer and look around more and more, in the last week I've really been in a F1 mood, and I've been dying to try a F1 Multimedia kit for the first time. So I splurged a few days ago and got this $280, 300+ part kit. It has resin, lots of white metal, many P/E parts, rubber tires, turned Aluminum wheels, and other parts. IMO its a pretty impressive kit.
A lot of people roll their eyes at these kits but I like them, its a big challenge and its kind of a strange emotional high a person gets from buying one of these limited M/M kits. They have there own way about them compared with the normal plastic injection kits.
This car, the FW08 is not one of the prettiest F1 cars but since its the championship car from one of the most sensational F1 seasons of all time its make it more important to me. Sometimes ugly cars are good looking. ;D
The body parts and the engine and trans are really the only resin parts of the whole kit, 75% of the kit is White Metal.
The fun part is combining white metal body parts with resin. That should be interesting to do?
This should be a good summer project, with lots of hours of clean up and studying. I'm glad I got one. Someday I still want to build a Model Factory Hiro kit, just to see how one of those are. But for now I'll try the Studio 27.
