my name is paul michulsky, i live in wisconsin near green bay and have been building models for close to 60 years. i enjoy both stock cars and open wheel cars from the 50's-60's era.
i started to build a model of a.j. foyt's 1961 #1 bowes dirt car about 20 years ago and never completed it, this forum will help me complete that project.
in 1985 i had an article published in scale auto enthusiast on fireball roberts' 1961 pontiac catalina. i was working on another article about cars that aj drove. i had about 3 or 4 models started for the article but lost interest in the builds and sold all of the models except the 61 dirt car. while submitting an article is no longer in the plans, completing the dirt car is. with living in wisconsin and having short summers, much of my modeling is done during the winter months.
i will take a few pics of the WIP and post them.
i look forward to learning more about open wheel and enjoying other builds.
