I'm thinking the ergonomics in that cockpit leave something to be desired

I made this 1/20th scale Vanwall about 8 years ago, maybe a little longer. . . The more I look at the model, the less I like it now. which is a shame as I love the Vanwall as a car.

Ian,
I really like the Cooper. Wow in 1/20th. All the photos I've seen of the Team cars showed the wheels were black or at least a very dark metallic. Did you have some other photos that showed them green? I'd like to know!

Patrick,
I had a 1/43rd kit which said green and I think I had a picture of one via the Donington collection which were green. I usually research my models quite well so I must have had a reason for choosing green on this car. I built it in 2003 and it's a bit lost in the mists of time just now.

The late Ron Hall showed me how to do engine turning on dashes, he replicated the basic dash in aluminum, then took a regular #2 pencil (new) and chucked it in a drill, he turned the eraser down with a file until he had the diameter he wanted about 5/64ths or slightly larger than 1/16, using the lead end and a ruler he made equaly spaced lines on the Aluminum, then he chucked the pencil back up eraser end out, and started left to right with a slight over lap making turning marks at a relative slow speed, until he had done the first row, then he just continued until the entire dash was done PERFECT ENGINE TURNING!!! Takes a lot of Patience and a steady hand but It Can Be Done!!!! Chris ;D
