I thought I would try to do a picture by picture somewhat process of what goes into doing a conversion. This one there is not a lot of modification. There is two that I did 1) Cut the areo skirts off the bottom tray in front of the air intakes and the back fins where cut correctly. This started out as a Mario Andretti 93 spdwy wing Mini champs.
I usually don't strip the whole car if it is already white unless there is imperfections already in the paint. I do however prime the whole car after doing modifications.
I clear coat the paint and begin the decal process. This picture is 1 hour worth of work to the car of applying and cutting out the decals. As you can see an hour there is not much done.
Another hour and 15 min. but a break in between.
Approximately another 3 and a half hours later and you have a finished project of just piecing it back together and finishing the decal process. Hope you enjoyed the pictures of this build.
The paint list I used on this project is as follows. MCW 2035 red
Testors French Blue, Grimmy black for the wheels and suspension and a steam engine black for the back wing support and bottom tray of car. MCW clear coat.
I don't know if you can notice or not but painting the front, back suspensions and wheels it takes the cheap look plastic shine away from it. If you look at the first pic. of Mario's car you can see the difference in the two.
