I think they'll be able to sort it all out.
The clock is ticking until the beginning of the season(s) though so the sooner the better.

I drive in an open wheel sim racing league and someone who's been reading a lot of message boards says that the press conference in Friday. Sadly, it seemed like one was declaring victory when both series aren't doing well overall. I think we all realize that the true winner of the open wheel split was NASCAR!

What game do you use Indy? I used to play the old Indycar Racing game from Sierra. I'd be interested in getting back into it if possible.

rFactor, it is the latest and greatest in simracing. It is a basic racing sim that is easy to mod so there are 100s of car that people have built. Some are thrown together but many have development teams that do a very respectable job with zero compensation. That's right - all the mods are FREE!!! There are NASCAR Cup mod for COT and older cars. There is a ChampCar '06 mod which my league uses and a 60s roadster mod which I haven't played with much as I didn't like how it drove. Plus in development there is a '07 ChampCar Panoz mod, an '08 IRL mod, and several old ChampCar/IndyCar mods (95 CART IndyCars & 98 ChampCar come to mind).

It does help to have a newer graphics card with the newer simulations but these things have really come a long way! Here a screenshot from a guy I race with - the background blur looks photoshopped but you can see that's it is a lot more realistic looking than ICR.



Anyone know when the details of the merger are coming out. Several ChampCar tracks are saying they are on the schedule and some are saying they aren't. Plus, I read a pre-merger column from Robin Miller saying Motegi and Long Beach may still go on separate It would be nice to know FACTS though! ;D
