For those of us on the left coast, I just learned that the test session at Infineon on 3/25/12 will be open to the public. I live 40 minutes away so I will be there for sure. A chance to see Rubens as well. Can't wait to hear the turbos scream. ;D www.infineonraceway.com/media/news/602861.html |

If anyone is interested, the test was a blast. Reports are 1500 people showed up, and that sounds about right. Rubens Barrichello was blown away by the crowd, according to TK.
The tech session with TK and the GM of Penske was great, showing how the new steering wheel works (Tony acted like he was going to steal the Penske wheel) and the QA with all drivers was fun.
The cars aren't quite as ugly in person. Tony's car, which Rubens was driving, was BRIGHT green & yellow, very cool. The sound they make reminds me of the early V6 turbos in F1.
Very encouraged by what I saw. If anyone has a spare $3-5 mil Rubens is looking for sponsorship. Hopefully he will be in by next week.
I'll post pics if I figure out how.
