Things that make me go hmmmmmm............
I'm sure the 72D will not include the tobacco markings and I'm pretty sure they were there at every race. An opportunity for the aftermarket decal guys but to ensure that all the gold markings match it will probably require a complete sheet with all markings. Up for a challenge Michael?
The 312B had oversize tires and wheels in the front and I expect that Tamiya will not make changes to the basic kit.
In either case, it's nice to see these old veterans return.

Looks like the JPS logos have been removed from the 72D kit.

And no tire logos on the Ferrari. I have a 312B sheet in progress, I'll offer full and 'missing markings' options on that.
... perhaps... the box shows no tire logos, the build-up does.

I dont think the tires on the Ferrari look correct? They seem too wide?

I dont know for sure but it might be possible to make Mario's first F1 winning car out this 312b? Would I be right? If so that would be cool!

You're right Calvin, the fronts are way too wide.

Trevor, It's moving it's way up my list of projects. It is actually one ahead of the Longhorn Indy car based on the Williams Fw07 so soon..... Chris

Yep, I have one but feel starting with the Tamiya tub and engine and making all the bodywork would be easier than trying to convert that, I have a bunch of pics and I believe the designer is still around so research should be a snap!! Chris

Chris, I admire what you're planning to do here, but I do have to bring up the engine. The Tamiya engine is a flat 12 and what you need to replicate is a earlier V-12 from about the 1967 season. Sorry, maybe I've just missed something and you do have this thought out.

pje is right, it is a V12 not a flat boxer 12. You would have to use a 1967-68 312 chassis and V12 motor with 3 valve heads to do that model.

To be honest I hadnt gotten that far into the engine info, but since I plan on concentrating on the body and overall design I may just use the Tamiya or pull one out of the couple of Honda Parts cars and convert it to Ferrari.. since it is a V12 and very similar, I still have a lot of time before I get into it, Bottom Line on this project,,, I just want to have some Fun with this Build.. I am not a IPMS kind of builder! No Offense intended..LOL!!! Chris
