I just wanted to make those of you who may not know, aware that I have a gallery of 61 Indy 500 winning cars from the IMS museum, many photographed from different angles. Keep in mind that the restorations may not always be accurate, but some of them (such as the new 1973 winner they have) are spot on. www.pbase.com/indyboosler/ims_museum

Thanks so much for sharing this. This forum is so great about making hard to find photos and information available to us. Now if my skills could equal what you supply. Jim

Awesome Michael. Looking at these pictures makes me feel like I am there at the museum myself. ;D

Thank you Michael, I have spend a great deal of time checking out your photos. Question: Do you have the right connections at the museum that would allow you on the other side of the ropes to take cockpit photos? For example, I still don't have really good cockpit photos of the Chaparral, Wildcat or even the Paxton turbine. I'm sure that everyone here has another favorite to add to that list!

Michael have you ever heard about the cars that the speedway has in the basement of the museum? A friend of mine, whose grandfather was a long time yellow shirt, got a glimpse of the storage area and said it was full of Indy and a variety of cars. Would be cool if the speedway would display those. I love the museum, but it is kind of cramped. A bigger area would make all of the cars look even better IMO.

The basement has alot of cars in it. Race cars, winners and others, most Pace Cars, motorcycles and antique cars. I've been down there 1 time, but no cameras are allowed. Security walks with you, and you can't even pull out your cell phone.
