Greetings OWers! I've been fiddling about with an AMT PC6 to PC7 for a long time- cutting off the sides, adding flat pieces, making underbody stuff and therein lies my question. What is the configuration of radiators and exit ramps within the sidepods? I imagine the Chapparal 2K article may have shown some of that but I can't see the pix Any help will be appreciated. I will throw some pix of my progress up soon.

Were you wanting to build his Indy 500 car or another particular race? Because I built mine like his 1979 California 500 winning car (I believe?)
The reason I ask, the side pod configuration changed slightly in different races.

Your building Bobby Unser's 1979 car right?

Wow instant response! I wish you worked for the cable company. . . (oops, maybe you do) Anyway, I just figured a PC7 wouldn't be too bad to cobble up and my momentum picked up when Michael made the Bunser sheet available. I would be happy with having a winning car on the shelf, doesn't have to be Indy 500 spec. Thanks

Thanks for your kind remarks. I feel I can always use some help, viz. inside the sidepod radiator ducting. Your photos were very helpful in revealing the rear cowl-headrest configuration. I'm working on that now. BTW, did this car have skirts?

More wip- the headrest and rear cowl is about done I added ramps inside the sidepods and closed off their ends (don't know if this is quite accurate but it looks ok to me) I will paint inside the sidepods and sides of monocoque then assemble- seems the sensible plan to me later. . . .

I'm always impressed by the scratchwork of you guys. I would get measurements and angles wrong all day.
THIS one looks fantastic. Keep it up. I can't wait to see the finished product.
