In Calvins honor, I would like to change the name of this thread to Tony Bettenhausen '56 Belanger Spl. Kurtis Offy, but I don't know how. Anyway, some progress. I have made the grill, thanks to Russ for the metal, and made some brake discs and calipers. also modified the seat, and "upholstered" the seat and headrest The Belanger cars had unique knockoffs, I will rey to duplicate them sorry about the bad photos

If anyone else is building a Kurtis, I suggest you get the conversion kit from Tim Jones (Alwaysindy), it will save you a lot of work. I have a little bit of Tom Sneva in me, so I did not. I will next time. Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions are welcome. Take Care Craig

The short answer is " I don't know". I want to build some more Monogram roadsters and I need the wheels and tires. I would rather buy them, than make them, but nobody else seems to want to do it. Lance would rather sell kits, which I fully understand. I plan to cast my first tires this weekend. If that goes well I will move on from there. My current plan is to offer a kit of wheels, tires, brake discs, and knockoffs. I don't know if the wheels will fit any other tires. I don't like to copy anyone elses work, but the wheels are beyond my limited skills. As I have said, I will make them with the blessing of Lance, and will stop if he withdraws that permission. I do this for fun, and sometimes I just don't feel like it. When the wheels and tires are ready, I will post photos and pricing. I truly am sorry that I can't give a better answer, but thats the way it is. I worked on somebody elses schedule for many, many years and I don't have to do it anymore. Take Care Craig

I am well aware that my skills do not compare to some of the work we see on this board, but being involved with most of you guys has made modeling a lot more enjoyable for me. By the way, Michaels decals are always great but the nose decals on this build were a real (expletive deleted). Take Care Craig

Sorry about the B word. I thought that unless we were refering to a driver it was allowed.

I really like what you have done. I, too, have several of the Monogram roadster kits and they do require some work to get them right. Please let us know about anything you decide to make available for purchase. Your wheels and tires are right on. Good for you. Thanks, Jim

That turned out great, Craig! In particular, I like how that grille turned out. Looks like you just glued a short bit of tube on the front for the starter tube rather than drill all the way through? I'd been wondering about drilling all the way through and ruining the look - I should have just thought of that! Also, the brake lines I think are such a subtle detail, yet add so much.
Plus, how can you go wrong with a black race car!? Well done!

That looks fantastic! I love the details like flat spotting the tires and brake lines. Your grille looks perfect.

The car is actually TS55 dark blue, not black. Thanks everyone for the kind words. The grill started out with this Take Care Craig
