If they're modeling it after how it currently is in the Musuem they are doing it wrong. Apart from having white tires, the numbers were totally different than they are now.

It does look pretty awesome... However... in addition to the black tires and inaccurate numbers, other errors are the black rims, and notice that the differential/transaxle is totally wrong. Can’t imagine how something so fundamental was overlooked, looks like it is off a model T Ford.
The one thing they did get right though is leaving off the “pan’ under the engine which was not on the original car at race time.
Sorry Chapparal2K The numbers are still wrong along with the fule tank tie down straps and pinstriping are painted over in those pictures so it can't be untouched from the race day photos. It looks like someone just hosed it down with light cream paint and wrote all over it.
Damn why don’t they just hire a nit-picking perfectionist like me as QA manager.

John This is not the first time the Chi-coms got one wrong.

I don't know about that "easily" part when we talk about a $225.00+ price tage, But the more I look at the photos themore imperssed with the level of detail on most of the model.
So let's see, if I put away a buck a day for the next year... Maybe by September or October!

You better hurry up then Trevor. The other comment I would make is the primitive quality of the paint at the turn of the century. Who really knows what color it was then? Lots of room for debate here.

Lots of room for debate here. Finally a sensible critique from someone who should know. He was probably 20 yrs old & saw the race...
