Got the new book on Paul Newman and the Autosport tribute to Senna. My racing library continues to grow! Both new arrivals look interesting.

I just came across "Blood and Smoke"... "A True Tale of Mystery, Mayhem, and the Birth of the Indy 500." 2011, by Charles Leerhsen. So far a very colorful tale of the state of early auto racing, Daring and colorful figures that drove those snarling beasts, and the construction (in 1909) of the most hallowed track in the history of auto sports. In light of the most recent fatality we are reminded that death and auto racing have always been as intertwined as a Ferrari wire wheel. We also discover just how close we came to kissing the “Yard of Asphalt” rather than bricks.
A definite Must Have for the Indy fan! Now, if you will excuse me I Must get back to my book!
