I recall getting a model of a roadster at Christmas time somewhere around 1957-1960. I believe it was not made by a major manufacturer but what sticks with me most is that it was molded in light blue. It had rubber tires and the scale may have been 1/20th or 1/25th.
Anyone familiar with this kit?
Thanks.

Hey Mike, About the only kit I can think of that is that old and molded in light blue was the Merit Lago-Talbot F1 Car. See Below If this is the kit you can still find them on Ebay. Not to many parts as I recall but can be made into a nice replica by adding some detail. Hope this helps. That may be it. I was 6 or 7 at the time so my memories are not that sharp. I seem to remember that it didn't have an engine. Also, the rear tires were huge in diameter and wheels resembled Halibrands.
Thanks for responding.

The Merit Alfa Romeo and Talbot Lago kits where taken over by SMER and where still in model shops in Europe until a year ago. May be they are still in prduction, but I have no recent information about them ,

Sounds more like the Ideal or ITC 1/16 Indy Roadster, it was basically a scaled-up version of the Aurora/Best Fuel Injection Spl. I think it came in various colors, I've never seen a light blue one but I'm sure it's possible.

Sounds to me like the Monogram Kurtis Roadster, issued something like 1956?, Chris
