88 Mears PC 17

I'm not completely pleased with the outcome, but I'll accept it. The figures always add to the finished product IMO. I didn't add the 3 hole wheels because Rick won with these Dymags after removing the 3 hole wheels because of handling problems enter/exit corners. Rick said this was the key for winning in 88. He said the 3 hole worked great in traffic & overtaking but bad in the corners.

Minichamps that come with driver do not have a seat, so I took a seat from a 93, trimmed it to fit in cockpit then added the Willans belt decals. I also built a tranny extension to set the wing back to it's proper distance from chassis.
After soaking the windshield over night in ELO the paint comes off but is frosty looking, then you must buff it out with a Dremel buffing wheel & car wax. It comes out very nicely. The ELO makes it somewhat fragile so be very gentle while buffing.

No I made one with a 22 for Roger. The side pods are not the proper shape up front. This one is just right. Plus it came with chrome suspension.

Mears is without a doubt, my favorite ever. If I ever like a driver as much, it would shock me because no one has come close enough since!

So I'm biased in liking your build - I can't believe this started out as a Reynard. Who would have thought it could be converted into a PC17 looking car. Nice work and oh yeah, I'm jealous Roger has some of your stuff!!

He is my all time favorite as well. He is always good with his fans, I've met him twice, very humble man. Roger has 14 Indy winners of mine sans Helio's 2009. Some were converted Minichamps i.e. Little Al & Emo, the rest customs. I have to do the 86 Unser to complete my collection.
