1957 Indianapolis 500 Pictures

I've never seen these before......Mostly of the Novi (the model I need ) and Belond spl.

Something I didn't realize about the Belond Spl. is that clear deflector right behind the node cone - on the right side.

Back then those grandstands would look the same way for even qualifying!

Especially in 1957, when the Tower Terrace was brand new. I used to love sitting there for practice. I could stand near the south end, back row and see all but turn 3. The trees were much smaller then. They ruined it when the fences were raised for NASCAR and then the whole thing re-configured for F1. It's beautiful from an architectural standpoint but...
