Hey Guys,
I need the pics of the Underside of of a Reynard Indycar. Is there still a plank on the bottom of the car or some type of metal skidplate? Pease let me know the details plesae. I saw on on Google but I can't find it know. Please let me knoe what the botom of a Reynard Champ car looks like please.

Are you sure that is not two different CF patterns? If not the underside looks like a semi gloss to almost a gloss black with the centre section almost a skid plate???

The typical Indycar undertray of the time was one piece, carbon fiber. Many teams, for aero and durability reasons, used an aircraft clear on the interior and whole bottom of the undertray. It helped prevent delamination caused by contaminations. Depending on the team/year/make of the race car, the center section was taken up by skid plate(s). Some were one piece and others in two or three sections. They were made of several materials, again dependent on vintage and team. Some were aluminum, others brass (to add weight) and still others wooden, called "jabrock". All were designed to prevent wear and tear to the undertray and were bolted on from below into threaded inserts built into the undertray. Simply stated, the skid plates touched the track rather than the undertray. While this is very general information, I hope you find it helpful.
