That's too bad! He also had some good drives in the Team McLaren Can-Am cars.

It just shows how competitive F1 was back in the 70's. The cars could run closer together and the race was always unpredictable, when it comes to mechanical reliability.

I loved F1 in the '70s. Big power (for the time), awful aerodynamics and huge tires. And huge cut outs in the seat for the cast iron huevos. That BRM P160 in Yardley colors was just beautiful. I had a Yardley BRM sticker on my Sprite back then. (As an aside, a video of me trying to get in and out of that Sprite now would be a big hit on YouTube) Mr. Gethin was reunited with that car at Goodwood last year and drove it on one of it's runs.
