Hey Racerbrown!
You sure can and no, there are no decals available for the 1952 version of this car. But you can build a new 1952 Fuel Injection Special from Bill's kit.
Best to you

thanks russ! so it looks like i need to find an alps to print some numbers, drill out the holes for the intake, add the injector stack tubes and sand off the the louvers below the cockpit on the left side. any idea on the color that it ran that year? dark grey as in '53? thanks, duane

No problem Racerbrown!!!
Yes....The Fuel Injection Special in 1952 was the same color as it was in 1953. I have GREAT color video from 1952 and it was the same color. Good luck on the decals. They're are some really talented guys on this forum that do great decals from alps printers.....Just ask them
Best to you
Russ

thanks russ, I'm glad you reminded me! we probably both have the same rare sportsfilm video from '52. one thing i found odd was that he started the race with all silver? wheels but finished the race with red wheels on the front. is there a specific color of grey for these ('52,53, and 54) cars or did you just mix by eye and airbrush it on. thanks again, duane

Racerbrown...
I shot Dupi-Color medium Gray right from the can. Easiest way is the best way. As for the wheels, you got the best reference I could mention. Do what you like and be sure to answer the questions. The film shows all different wheel combinations during the race, so go with what you like and it will be accurate. Bill's kit is fun to build!
Best to you!

fun to build? i've got a lot of learning to do yet! i'm looking forward to the darlington historic event as they'll have quite a few old indy cars there as well as stock cars so i can get a good feel for what they really were like. pictures are great but i'll really learn more in person. thanks again for all your help as it's really appreciated! duane
