I'm sorry to keep peppering you with questions, but where did you get the wheels? John No, I like questions, if I didn't I would be posting on this forum. They are AMT Mclaren wheels.

this appears to be an old alumalite resin 1970 body that i made pre 1993. i was thinking that calvin might have gotten this one from jim stephens. the colt was remastered in 2003 one boring week in iowa whilw my now ex wife was attending some convention that escapes me now. thats probably why mikes decals fit-they were made using the remastered body....

Wow! You really did a great job on that old body Calvin! Glad I sold it to you, because I don't know if I could've done half as good a job!

Some other notes:
I made the windscreen - which is sprayed with Tamiya Clear Blue (just like the body) I'm glad I clear coat my stuff because I used that clear barrier to my advantage to help prevent mistakes with glue or other paint, also scratches - I handled the body many many times, if I didn't have that clear coat on, it would look like "sheat".

To quote Indiana Jones: "That belongs in a museum. " looks great!

I went back and fixed this thread. I saved my old pictures from that evil greedy worthless Photobucket and also cleaned up any confusion.
This brings back a lot of fun memories!

Glad you did, Calvin. This is a neat build I don't think I had previously seen. One to be proud of, for sure.

Absolutely fantastic job on one of my favorite cars (there's a one-off print of it signed by Al hanging over my desk right now). Its too bad AMT or MPC was never able to do a kit of that car - they would have sold a million of 'em!

Its too bad AMT or MPC was never able to do a kit of that car - they would have sold a million of 'em! that's so true about selling a million of them. when i was a kid back then, this car was just the coolest thing out there. i remember having something like a tether car that i towed behind my bike and i just flat wore that thing out. duane

For those wondering I used TS-72 Clear Blue over TS-44 Brilliant Blue to give a candy look.

Just got my Colt kits today, absolutely superb! Lance out did himself on this one. Thanks you, Lance, for persevering thru all the challenges that came up along the way, much appreciated here!
Calvin, thanks for the color recommendation!
