My job is to entertain you guys So here is something to laugh at! I've always wanted a 1/12 scale Pennzoil Chaparral 2k I started on this about 1 month ago. I'm just having fun, I have no idea what will become of this? I haven't touched this since a month ago.....so who knows. Right now its not on my priority list.

How do you come up with the cross sections for this?

How do you come up with the cross sections for this? If memory serves, the May-June 1981 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast that had a complete set of plans. Paul Erlendson

Just out of curiosity Calvin, do you plan on using a Tamiya 1/12th scale chassis as a donor? Like the Lotus 78 for example ?

I just got that wild idea and started to take styrene and went at it, after an hour or two I had a nose. I know the shape of this car so good that instructions are just a check sheet. Oh BTW if I do get this done. Remember this: Resin makers dont make styrene-putty-sculptures for themselves.

Wowie-Zowie Batman! If you don't mind sharing some of that popcorn, I'm gonna prop up a seat, bring more beverage, and I really want to see where this is going!...
Calvin, you continue to amaze....

Calvin, the only thing I would suggest is for you to get your hard center line in now. I'm presuming that you are starting to do most of the body in solid form to start with. If that's so, then take your profile (side elevation) drawing and lay that out on the same sheet plastic that you used for the 'ribs" of your nose and glue it to your base. Then you can hang your next cross section ribs from it. My two cents.
Good luck!

But when I do plan ahead it really comes out great and thats what I plan on doing with this. Thanks!

Reminds me of the way the old Balsa Wood rubber band driven airplanes used to go together. Awesome work so far Calvin!

I would kill for that wonderful car in 1/18. The only way I'd do a 1/18 scale 2k is if you of anyone was able to come up with race TV broadcast of the following races. 1979 Phoenix 150 NBC 1980 Michigan 200 NBC 1980 Mid Ohio 150 ESPN 1980 Milwaukee 200 NBC I love watching old races and these are on my holy gray list.
