Hi, first post for me on here. Glad to have finally found a site which involves my main modelling passion (and no Nissan GTR's in sight) This is a recently finished SEF kit. I do enjoy these white metal kits and have a few to build. Alraedy done the BRM stack pipe which was my first South Eastern Finecast kit. The decals leave a lot to be desired but the look of the finished model pleases me at least. Open to any comment, good or bad. Regards, Steve.

Steve, Very Nice build and a great subject too. Hey I am asuming that's 1/43 and I am trying to paint a grill and window trim on a 1/43 BMW 635 but my hands are having no part of it ... Any Tips?? Thanks Chris

Thanks for the kind words. Chris, the scale is 1/24 on this one. I generally only build 1/24 & 1/25 but do have a few 1/12 & 1/16 projects. Tim, this is one of the easier SEF kits as the suspension has been designed to fit after the body is done so no tricky masking. Trevor, I am still reading through Patricks posts, his work is inspiring and I am very interested in the subjects he chooses. Cheers, Steve.

Steve, My SEF BT24 has been done for some time while still lacking a windscreen. Do you know if SEF still sells them? The model looks silly without something to keep the bugs off of Denny's teeth. I still have to tackle my SEF BRM P57. I like them because I don't have to work so hard to build my favorite period cars. Patrick

Hi Patrick, nice build, love the brass mesh intake covers. I have just brought some soft brass mesh and will try it out on the Lotus 25 that I have in progress (like you, I have several simmering at the same time) SEF are still selling the range, I think they are all showing 'in stock' Dave Ellis is a great guy to deal with, I often buy wheel sets from him. The wire wheels he sells are a bit more expensive than K&R but are far superior with plated rims and slightly finer spokes and they do come built, with knock-offs. I am also currently building the ERA kit as 'Remus'. Not sure how far back your period of interest goes, I am quite partial to a bit of pre-war stuff as well. Anyway, I digress. Link to SEF price list with web address and email www.sefinecast.co.uk/PriceList.pdfMy only association with SEF is as a happy customer. I am going to order a set of BRM wheels and tyres soon, if you like I will ask Dave to throw in a Brabham screen and I can then send it to you. Regards, Steve.

That would be so kind of you Steve. I do like some of the earlier cars and was licky enough to see "Remus" at the last Sonoma Classic car races here in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was a wonderful surprist to see the Thai flag on this great and famous car! That is one humongous SU carb!!! PM me if you are successful with the windscreen. Patrick
