Technically, the car never ran at Indy in this configuration (1993 Lola). He DNQ'd with a 1992 Truesports chassis. Michael typically (to the best of my knowledge) specializes in Indycar decals that ran at Indy or won at Indy. Not a car that ran the Indycar championship. So even if you used the MGD decals on a 1993 Lola, it would be inaccurate. on the oval setup atleast (bar Michigan), would sure look good though .

Well, he's done a lot of F1, CART and even Spaceship decals so he has diversified a bit. I'm actually concerned about the the white decals on the black body a bit.

I would be pretty sure that, if Michael did do this sheet, it would be a complete and accurate set of markings for the MGD 93 Lola. One thing that might be hard to do is reproduce that Gold'ish Yellow. That would be a difficult color match. My Autocourse - CART 1979-1998 Offical History shows that Rahal ran a 93 Lola for every race after he DNQed at Indy. Rusty

OK Thanks to the great pic posted by Rusty I identified the manufacturer and found them on-line still in business. I explained that a dozen or so people on this Forum would be interested in the Lola MGD set and wanted to know if they still had some or could make some... I also showed myself as the promoter of the So Cal NNL , hoping to add a bit of weight to my request so we shall see what they have to say!!!! Chris @ Chris, any updates on this by any chance

I'm going to go ahead and apologize for the long post. As my Dad would say, "This is probably more story than you want...." That sheet certainly is puzzling because there still is no transkit body and yet a nice they produced this great set of decals almost 20 years after the kit was released. From everything I have seen, Senna ran the '92 PC21 car for the test and not the '93 spec PC22. Though the rims used for the test are like the ones they ran on the PC22 and not the PC21 (I'm not trying to confuse you but it might be easy LOL). The PC21 isn't loved my many - maybe only me ;D whereas the PC22 is an Indy winner so it gets a lot of attention. I have a Senna diecast of his test car in 1/43 and it is definitely a PC22 they used for the car. The PC21 used the Chevy B engine which was an update of the originally Chevy Indy V8 (dubbed Chevy A starting in '92). The PC22 used the Chevy C and that was a much smaller motor made after Ford-Cosworth dominated much of '92 in their first season back with the XB. Because of the smaller engine profile, the PC22 has a much sleeker cowl and the pop-off valve moved to mid-plenum to take advantage of lower pressure at that spot in the chamber - effective allowing the turbo to run a little more pressure with the same valve limit. Which is to say - the PC21 and PC22 are visually distinct. 1991 Penske PC20 Chevy A 1992 Penske PC21 Chevy B Senna Test 1993 Penske PC22 Chevy C Seeing as the decals are 1/20, the Lola is the only real starting point (can't think of an F1 closer to the PC21 shape) for these particular decals so them going on a stock Lola could be done and just call call it close enough. In 1/20, without a transkit it is going to take a lot of elbow grease to get a correct looking PC21 if that matters to you. I'd love to do two PC21s in 1/25 - Senna's test car and Mears's last Indy 500 racer (and the only time I watched him race live). When we get the PC20 in resin then I can compare the PC20 against the PC22 to determine which would be the best base for the PC21... unless someone wants to do the PC21, too ;D A man can dream can't he....?
