Took a Carousel 1 1/18th scale 84 Mears winner and converted it into Roberto Guerrero's 2nd place finishing Master Mechanics True Value March. Special thanks to Michael for providing all the white lettering decals! ;D Widened the radiator outlets and scratch built the rear wing. Currently working on the standing driver figure. Real nice looking car, good work Stu. Does anyone know if any company plans to re-issue Carousel models in future?

Last I heard, Mr. Dalton was looking for an investor/capital. I also heard the molds are for sale at a very high price. Perhaps "professor" could shed some light on that. I wish there would be more or someone would do resin in 1/18. They make great donors.

Great job Stu...there were not very many neat looking paint jobs in 1984, but this one was nice and you captured it perfectly... awesome!!

I've made many 85, 86 & 87 Indy March customs from 98T Lotus but too damn much work.

Could you guys make your own molds of these cars and make resin copies for custom cars?

I could have a mold made of the body but then you still must have the undertray all the suspension parts wheels, tires, mirrors, windshield, engine, tranny etc. Kinda moot.

Earlier this year someone (Lazierfan?) said that Greenlight was going to start doing some of the older Indy cars. I thought at that time that maybe, just maybe, Greenlight was going to buy the Carousel 1 molds. It was probably just wishful thinking but I hope Greenlight is still planning to release something older.
Yesterday I noticed (or was helped to notice) that I totally forgot the white circle with the Mobil horse on the side of the nose. That along with the inspection stickers! Hope to have it all squarded away in a few days.

Stu,
Great looking car!! As for the Greenlight info you are correct. Last year at i-hobby expo the Greenlight rep in charge of their indycar stuff told me they were looking at doing some of the older cars....Fast forward to this year at i-hobby expo...Greenlight was not even there...hope that is not a bad sign of things to come.... However I did put a bug in the ear of the people at Revell about doing the new generation Indycar...

Here are some updated pictures now that I added the Mobil Horse decals and roundels along with my standing driver figure. Driver is kind of shiny so I need to knock that down a bit. I talked to Frank at C-1 and he has not sold any of his tooling. I do work for Revell also and there are no plans to do any Indycars right now, they just don't sell except to us.

I'll be surprised if any maker will tool the new or previous chassis. The demand is not that viable. We're a small niche of the Indycar collectors.

Thanks guys. The helmet took me three trys! It's not perfect but I am much happier the third time around. Getting the stripes even on a small curved surface is no picnic.
Lazier fan reported that Greenlight was doing the new chassis or had won the rights anyway. I am still hopeful that will happen.

To McBickV8:
Derek Daly drove a March 84C for Provimi Veal in 1984. The first couple of races the car was blue with yellow and red lettering, but from Indy onward it was yellow with blue lettering.
Best regards Bo

I just received the 011 Wheldon. I intend to take it apart & replace the incorrect parts & display it with my 05 winner.

You're the man, Stu! Outstanding work! The driver figure looks a little bit too shiny. I can recommend Mr. Hobby flat top coat spray B-503 (japanese stuff).
