Here's an old one! I built this one when I was 15 years old, which was a very very long time ago! (In dog years)This is the first pics I've ever taken of this car. This was my very first 1/12 scale build, it was my 2nd F1 build and 3 months before I built my very first Indycar. This was back in the Testors era, when life was tough, so for a paint job all I did was clear coat over the bare Tamiya Plastic! LOL It came out OK, I was pretty happy with, its still hanging on, only because I spent about 3 hrs scuffing it up before the clear. This is before I knew anything about Indycals, so I took the disgusting yellowed tamiya decals and sat them in the sun all day..... and by golly! it actually bleached the white out! It took me 2 weeks to get this done in the hot Oregon summer, I did all of my painting outside in 100 degrees, no wonder the Testors paint actually dried.

Still a great build. Much better than what I was doing at 15!. Never could bring myself to build that car.... just too ugly for me. But I appreciate the workmanship and detail.

It was by far my best build for the longest time. It was one of those turning point models that really opened my eyes to being patient. The first F1 model I did was a 1993 Mclaren, and I built that one in 3 days and it looked like a 3 day job too but I think getting this more expensive larger model really made me think twice about be patient.
I agree the 1979 Ferrari is not a pretty car, but it did get the job done....It always reminded me of an old fiberglass bodied dune buggy. LOL

I agree with Michael. Great job for such a young age. The car is pretty ugly but the T5 was even worse. Stu

Great job for such a young age. Stu Thanks! Looking back, it was a very very good job for that age.....but to be honest, I think the quality of the model is what really helped. Another side note is, out of all my friends in school, I was the only one to do this kinda stuff, most of my friends just played video games non stop. I played games as well but only Motorsport games about once or twice a week. But back then I put prolly 3 times as much time into riding 4 wheelers and motorcycles than even model building. I had a really neat 1/10 mile dirt track that I ran easily 2,000+ laps around over a 6 year period. I even had somewhat of a Road Course also, that had a really cool layout, with a 50 mph straight. Those were the days!
