Looking good. I'm looking forward to the bodywork. I see a Sharpie in the background, I love my black and silver Sharpie for picking out details.

Quick question everyone on the body work. Which version of the mp 4 4 should I do, early season or late season? Im leaning towards doing the japanese gp version.
what are your opinions

Japan GP 1988 it is. Ill see if I can modify the turbo cooling system as well. I took the liberty removing the kit antennas as they look too big to scale. Modifying the body should be straight forward so it might be sometime before any updates

Bad news gang, looks like the restoration will have to be scrapped due to fact that the house we live in has no insulation and therefore gets hot and cold quickly. Its warped the plastic so badly there is no fixing it. Sorry guys

That's a shame. After all that work, maybe you could display it with the body off, like it was being serviced. It must be very expensive to heat or cool your house. Can't you add some insulation? Take Care Craig

Its warped the plastic so badly there is no fixing it. Sorry guys So ... is it only the main body work that is warped? If that is the case, I happen to have a spare. Its from a "junk pile" eBay purchase I made about 3 years ago. One of the "junk" kits is the MP4/4. There were lots of pieces missing BUT... the body work is sitting on the table next to me right now. It needs to be cleaned up (remove old decals and wash it). So if thats all ya need its all yours. Just send me your address and I'll mail it today. Rusty

Im going to see what I can do as far as fixing the body. All I would need would be the roll bar where the radio antennas are. If anyone has that, send me a private message or post something here. I do have hope it can be saved. Might anyone know where to get M@r1b0r0 decals?

Afraid that the roll bar is not on my spare car, otherwise you could have had that also. My spare has the basics of the engine, most of the body work. Including not having the roll bar, the rear wing is missing, broken suspension, no wind screen. There are usually a few people selling M@r1b0r0 decals on eBay. Rusty

I got the full set for the MP4/5B and the M23. I haven't used them yet but the quality seems to be quite good (not IndyCals good, but still good). I have seen full sets for the MP4/4 as well as antennas as part of an MP4/4 upgrade kit. A search for MP4/4 should do it. MJ

Hey everyone, quick update. Turns out the body is in good shape, no signs of warping. All I really need at this point is the front and rear wing endplates, rear view mirrors and roll bar hoop. Leave a reply or message me if anyone has these parts, Thanks

Hi Patrick if you need a replacement roll bar I can make a copy of the one from my unbuilt kit and send to you?
I am new to this forum but have found some really good M23 refrence photos for the tubing on the engine. I am looking for some detailed refrence photos of the engine of the mp4/4, can any one point me in the rgith direction at all?
