Simply Put " OUTSTANDING" !!!! I had never noticed before the decal on the nose that is for Theodore Racing! Dan Gurney introduced me to Teddy Yip at Riverside in 84, at that time, the richest man in the world, He was literally flying around in his own 747 24-7 conducting business from there.... interesting man, I talked to him for quite a while and I was impressed!! Back to the model. I am blown away and kicking myself in the Azzz for not getting one when they were available.. Chris

Another masterpiece by "the machine". He builds with one hand and teaches computer skills with the other. You are one of a kind, Calvin. Take Care Craig

Calvin, Calvin, Calvin... Do you do these in your sleep? I have wanted to build this one for years, both for the "Gas-man" and the scheme. Enlighten me, my friend, what's with the white stripe on the nose? Was it there in the race? Once again, The Machine has hit it out of the park! Tremendous job! Tim

Enlighten me, my friend, what's with the white stripe on the nose? Was it there in the race? Once again, The Machine has hit it out of the park! Tremendous job! Tim Tim, the white stripe on the nose I am assuming would be for aerodynamic reasons, reducing the drag, that white stripe is on the car at Indy in '83. I have seen a pic of Al Sr, Al Jr and Sneva in one of the turns at Indy, and the tape was there during the race also. 10-12 other cars, most of them march's used that tape as well, atleast according the qualifying pics from the '83 500, the tape was placed where the seam of the nose cone attaches to the rest of the body.

Do you do these in your sleep? Yep! Its was tape to cover over the seam. Its was there for the race and Qualifying.

FYI for everyone. I'm 100% SOLD out of these 83 March bodies, nothing left, I sold the last of them a few days ago......I made over 70 Bodies and all of them are gone. But I do plan to reissue the 83 March in a few months (this spring).

A museum quality MASTERPIECE. Love seeing this so much, thanks for posting progress pics too. Yeah - the car was fantastic, but had a pretty nasty body seam on the nose. "Duct tape will fix that"... Without the tape in the museum. (so technically your model is closer to the real race car... than the real race car).

(so technically your model is closer to the real race car... than the real race car). It should be. The one in the museum is more of a late season 83 March. It has different side pods from right to left. The left side pod is bigger. The 500 winning car along with the other Marches in the field had the same side pods on both sides of the car. Also the rear wing is smaller on the 500 winner. and the 500 winner has tape on its nose.
