Was there really a green belanger car?

The cars look great. The finish on the Kurtis-Ferrari is excellent as is the exhaust, but the nose was not a stock Kurtis nose. Check the article in ROAD&TRACK of 15 or so years ago or just do a Google search. Patrick

Thanks for the comments The nose and the exhaust of the curbside Kurtis Ferrari are clearly wrong. The wheels are not correct and there are details of the body that have not been made. The Ken Paul Spl Watson must have had a darker shade of blue and was completed without the oil tank. Wheels wrong too. The green Watson and the other Kurtis are fictional. I understand that for many this is a waste of kits.

Not a waste at all. Build what you like! If you don't, who will? Great work; nice clean builds. Post more soon.

Aldo, Ouch! Please don't think I feel they are a waste...I truly do not feel they are!! Your work is very clean and precise. Phantoms and other types have a place in this forum I feel. I also feel I sometimes get wrapped up in the IPMS-mode of thinking of exact replications of our racers. Since I scratch-bash cars I DO NOT have one totally accurate example of a car and therefore did not wish to imply that your cars (the nose of the Ferrari for example) were inferior. Sometimes people are not aware of certain modification that were made. The Ferrari exhaust isn't incorrect however, as there is a photo of the naked chassis in the shop with that exhaust set-up. Great work...I do like the green color of the Belanger.

Aldo, I think your color on the Ken Paul Special is nearly spot on. If you are comparing it to the car in the Indy museum, THAT car is wrong. I too like the green Belanger, even if it is fictional.

Very very nice work Aldo. I'm not a big fan of roasters but AM a fan of good modeling like yours. Nice paint.

Belanger was a John Deere dealer and Chrysler dealer from Lowell, Indiana. It's not too much of a stretch of the imagination to have had a "John Deere green" car. Even though the real McCoy was Chrysler blue. Looks really neat. Main thing is to have fun with the stuff. I'm thinking about doing a freelanced "what if" Kurtis with the Peoria & Eastern Railway as a sponsor just for the heck of it. After I get my turbine project out of the way.
