A couple of years back, I bought a few of the indycals decals (they were great!), but I noticed that the Pennzoil Z-7 decals for the AMT kit had more of a maroon color than a red, as the kit decals do. Do they tend to brighten up when on the yellow background, or should I order new ones? Any thoughts?

As long as you place these decals over a yellow background they will be the correct shade of red. They are semi-transparent and the combination of the yellow background and the maroon will combine to make a bright red color. Here is an example... This is the PC-18 that I'm currently working on. I used the #4 from the 1987 Pennzoil March 86C Russd

Thanks! I suspected that might be the case.
BTW - that is a beautiful PC18!
