This diecast was originally the Carousel 1 Dan Gurney Spa winner that I got from my friend Paul in Boise. Paul obtained this broken car from C1 but sold it to me so he could buy the Hiro Gurney Eagle kit. It had a broken front suspension and the mirrors were broken off but nothing major wrong with the car. After I made repairs I decided why not turn the car into another car? After searching my Gurney book and surfing the net I thought it would be cool to make the British GP car from 1968. I loved the make shift front wing and the raised wing at the end of the Weslake V12. So, I removed the #36's and made my own roudels and new #24's. I made the front wing from sheet tin and scratch built the rear wing and wing struts with plastic. I had to also cut the engine cover off (carefully) with my dremel but all went without a hitch. I was able to keep the original paint which was a bonus so all and all the car only took me about six hours to do. All & all I am very happy with how it turned out. You do good work, but that is the ugliest Eagle I've ever seen.

I wouldn't say ugly but I would say crude. You have to remember that this was the beginning of teams trying to get downforce and messing with wings and aero stuff. Remember the Lotus 49 tall front & rear wings? To me that was really ugly. But I agree with you to a point. The rear wing is pretty clean but Gurney attaching the front wing with struts was a bit much. *note* Mike Hayward Collection Photo Stu [img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/sbenford/MH9298.jpg" img]

You do good work, but that is the ugliest Eagle I've ever seen. IMO, anything that Gurney built was beautiful.....even his 69 Eagle at Indy!
