Hi,
My name is Bill and I am a PLASTICHOLIC. LOL!!
I have projects going all the time (too many, probably) and they g4et finished in no specific order. The Simoniz Special is getting a lot of bench time, but I have a Grant King Sprinter underway. Very reminiscent of the AMT watson kit! (plus I am finishing the Mario Andretti pole winner from '87!)
I will do one of these kits as a '60s *cageless* Sprint car similar to the Champ cars run in the '60s.
What I am looking for is a good source of pictures of the cars of that period: late '50s-early '60s. Any ideas?
Thanks, Mongo

That's a pretty nice resto there, they just dropped the ball by putting on those modern Moroso valve covers...

Yeah, I've got some finned 'vette covers that would look PERFECT on it!

Check out Artemis Images - I used to work for them and I scanned in a bunch of slides from places like Williams Grove, Reading, Indianapolis State Fair Grounds. It was a lot of work, and a lot of fun trying to identify these (especially since I had no background in sprints and midgets).. Here's a couple samples. Not to mods... you need to fix your curse word alteration algorithm to accomodate Tommy Hinnersh-itz so that it doesn't come out Tommy Hinnershitz

From what I've heard and read about Tommy, I believe Hinnernutsz would also be an appropriate surname!

However, if it was up to me, I would remove any limits on spelling because if my memory serves me right, this is the first time I've seen anything close to a bad word on this board. You guys are really good at policing yourselves. And believe me, I'm no word prude. I coach teenage hockey players and I use my share of "colorful" English. At the same time, some of the words that come up in some forums to cover up the vulgar words are quite hilarious.

Heh... another forum I post on changes the f-word to 'cuddle' - it's funny to see something like "Go cuddle yourself", or "I don't give a flying cuddle". ;D
