This thread will be kind of intertwined with the 1986 Budwesier March thread.
This WIP will just be a basic one nothing to exciting. It might be helpful for any newcomers that haven't really seen how to cut the front suspension off of these amt kits or other tips. First off, cut those front suspension parts off of the body to get an easier surface to work with and to paint. Make sure to take a small (i use .028) drill to make the holes for when you are ready to attach them back on using brass rod that is applied to the ends of the suspension parts. Which I'll get into later. Then get the nose all sanded down smooth. I prefer to make 86 Marches into curbsides, just because how the radiator setup is with this kit and also how the open space below the fuel tank kinda makes it not worthy of a non curbside. If I really wanted to I could go all out and make it work but I'm just doing this for fun and on the side. More sometime later.......

If only someone would do a proper tub for this kit . I dont think so I have other March cars to worry about. These builds are just my hobby for any down time from my other "investment" models that have putty drying on them currently.

The Indycals are on! I also used Tamiya yellow. and I clear coated over the decals like usual, using Tamiya clear. Take note of the this bottom pic. Notice how this side has the capital "CUMMINS" I forgot why they had to do that, but its really easy for someone that doesn't know to mess up and put this logo on the rear wing instead.

The proper display of "Cummins" is upper/lower case. For some reason they didn't have enough letters to replicate that way, so they put the wrong version - the all caps version - on the side of the car that is never seen from the pits.

Great job Calvin! Always loved this car. Penske/March 86c, Chassis #22 has many "neat" stories to it. I've been researching the car for the past year.

Awesome work Calvin!
That was my 1st ever 500 and I was crushed when Mario broke. Then I was crushed with Roberto's clutch woes. It's still hard to watch that video and seeing his team throw their hands in frustration. Still it's a nice ending to a day that was fairly boring until the end but I would have still preferred a Mario donination win.

As always, great work Calvin!!! I really like the yellow cars, and something other than Penskie makes it cool too. Not that I'm against Penskie, it's just nice to see other sponsors.
Very clean work (as usual). I agree with whats been said for the yellow and blue, it came out real nice.
