I would like to ask for advice, hints, and all the help you can give me. I would like to build the 1990 Indy 500 Domino's Pizza car that Arie drove. I would like to use the Newman Haas K-mart Lola T-8800 to do it with, since it has the right engine and chassis. Just looking at the photos of Michael's car with his decals, and some of the Indianapolis 500 photos, it looks close to what I need. Has anyone else made this car from this model? If so what do I need to look out for and what are the differences? Like I said any advice, hints, and help would gratefully be accepted. I usually take a very long time to finish a project, so keep the advice coming no matter how long it takes. Thank you, indyracecars Bob

Honestly those two cars have nothing in common besides the engine. The T8800 was much bulkier, the windscreens are totally different, the sidepods are totally different, the engine covers are totally diffent. You'd be better off trying to convert the 1993 Tamiya Lola into a 1990. You would need both the Duracell and Kmart kit (the latter for the sidepods), and you'd have to bulk up the engine cover area and modify the rear wing, and of course the car would have a Ford instead of a Chevy, but it would be a LOT easier of a conversion. I simply can't see converting a T8800 into the 1990 version.

Thank you, that is the advice I needed, looks like it is back to Ebay or somewhere else or some other car.
Thank you Michael, indyracecars Bob

There is no 1990 Lola kit. I have seen a 1993 Minichamps lola reverted back to a 1990. I agree with Michael that is your best bet regardless of scale. Arie's winner was issue, if you can find it, in 1/43 scale from Ampersand.

Bob, You can also try Bill Jogensen on this message board. indycarmodeling.proboards.comBill made a resin 1990 Lola that you can convert using parts from your 8800. Stu

Thank you everyone, just won one of Bill's 1990 body on ebay. So how much changes do I have to make to use the Lola T-8800 Chevy as the donor?
