A beautiful set again. What colors do you suggest for painting those wild shades?

I just made an executive decision for myself and decided that when I start building again, I'll not worry about historical accuracy. Im not going to try modifying the 89 Lola. I did it once and it was a nightmare. Now if someone (cough, cough, Calvin!) does a resin update for that car, I'll buy it.

It was a dayglo magenta on top. For my 93 Amway car I found dayglo magenta Kustom Kolor paint at Walmart, but I don't believe it is made anymore. I think TS44 would work reasonably well for the blue, but is probably not accurate.

Its not that tough, remember its just mind over matter. BTW I dont have any plans to do a 89 conversion because it would actually be more of a task to cut off the old and glue on the new than just doing a little sanding and squishing up the roll bar.

Actually I was thinking more in terms of the little winglets in front of the rear wheels. On the AMT kit they are flat and turned up, like you'd see in pictures of a road course configuration. The actual speedway configuration has those things turned up in an upward arc, like on the 1988 version. I tried to modify that without any success. I know the roll bar has to be compacted down and rounded. That part, I don't mind doing.

You're better off just using the 88 Lola Chevy kit.

You're better off just using the 88 Lola Chevy kit. Or just not worry about the body accuracy. I have a few 88s left and probably 15 89s.

You're better off just using the 88 Lola Chevy kit. I agree but the 89 would be good for a road course built. IIRC

I bought a ton of kits from a guy that was getting rid of his mail order inventory about 20 years ago. And I snap them up when the price is right at flea markets, toy shows etc.
